BOOOM!

HeYo! Very happy to be on high noon battling it out. I have to admit i have always thought that competition like this has  been a huge motivator. Not for any negative reasons of course, this is all fun and games. I mean it more as in that feeling that you have when your working on the same concept and cant wait to show your own thumbnail. So because I'm all excited and i don't want to disappoint here's a sneak.

Rules of the Arena

To put it simply we have 2 challengers: Challenger A and Challenger B.

Each battle consists of 2 rounds. For round 1 challenger A gets to set all the rules and terms of the challenge. For round 2 Challenger B gets to be in charge.

Each round will be judged by a panel of 5 judges based on Originality, Creative Interpretation of the Theme, and Technical Skill. Each category will be worth 5 points, for a maximum score of 15 from each judge, and total max of 75 points for each piece. Judges are also encouraged to give a detailed critique and explanation for their scoring. Additionally everyone can contribute through the comments section and voting.

Judges will be agreed upon by the challengers and can either be chosen on a round by round basis, depending on their experience and knowledge with the media or theme of that specfic challenge. Or they can be chosen to judge over both rounds of the battle in favor of consistency.

One of the main ideas of these battles is to analyze yourself and other artists to truly gauge your areas of strength and weakness. It's a useful tactic to become very familiar with your opponents work before each challenge and try to figure out where their skills fall short and where they excel. You must use these to your advantage when deciding a challenge. But you must also be willing to use this critical eye on your own work as well.

"If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle."

Terms of the Gauntlet

To put it short, this is going to be a low blow, hard hitting 1v1 brawl. Two artists with a battle of mediums, styles, and concepts. Each artist will put forward their strongest techniques and attack the weaknesses of the opponent. One artist will layout the terms (ex: comic cover, lady in red, city and explosions) then they would both interpret that in their own way and come up with individual concepts and would have 2 weeks to come up with a final product. With teasers and process work posted just to make em sweat.
